Hue was the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty until 1945. The old Imperial City was the home of Emperors and features the Citadel, with its thick walls and moats, sitting on the banks of the Perfume River. A UNESCO World Heritage site, ongoing renovations reveal the Forbidden Purple City, various palaces, shrines, and the Royal Theater where performances are held daily. Hue is to step back in Vietnamese history to the days of feudal Imperial warlords, and this story is part of The Revolution Express’ mission to showcase Vietnam’s march towards unification and independence, enduring various colonisers and systems of government.

Lang Co sits at the crossroads of Central Vietnam’s renowned World Heritage Route, with the Imperial City of Hue to the north and Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Cham temples to the south.
A hidden coastal gem, the area is becoming known for its pristine white sand beaches and majestic lagoons, ringed by a green mountain backdrop. The hustle and bustle of city life is not likely to reach Lang Co anytime soon. Central Vietnam is a land rich in culture and heritage waiting to be explored, from the lush paddy fields and charming fishing villages including Lang Co, to the surrounding ancient villages of centuries past.

Known as the tourist capital of the central coast and third largest city in Vietnam, Danang marks the halfway point between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. A vibrant city and home to some of the most iconic cultural and historical sites, including nearby World Heritage towns of Hoi An and My Son, Danang’s stunning coastal location boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With a reputation for hospitality and a relaxed outlook on life, Danang is considered one the friendliest and most peaceful cities in Vietnam, complete with ocean breezes and year round sunshine.
